Please note that if your submission is in French to support Francophone or French Immersion, then visit: https://arpdc.ab.ca/new-curriculum-resources-francais/submit-a-resource/

The purpose of this site is to collect and share educator-created resources that support new curriculum. It is intended as an Open Educational Resource (OER) Initiative, meaning that the original material shared here is licensed for reuse, revision and resharing (provided the terms of the license are followed).

School Divisions are invited to be early adopters of this OER initiative by providing specific permission for PLCS, collaborative teams, and individuals to openly license original work created while carrying out their employment duties.

Contributors to the ARPDC New Curriculum Resources site agree to license their original work under the following Creative Commons License: CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0. Copyright is still retained, however, users of the ARPDC site are permitted to publicly share and modify the work provided they adhere to the terms of the license: they must give appropriate attribution, commercial use is not permitted (including posting on paid lesson platforms), and they must re-share under the same license terms. View the license for full details.

Do You Have the Right to Contribute?  For works created within your employment, verify that your Division has provided permission for licensing them within the terms of this site*. Please also ensure every appropriate step has been taken to be copyright compliant in your submission, including:

  • Respect creators and copyright holders. Collaboratively created works should be submitted under a group name (eg. ARPDC Staff). Recognition of creators and contributors should be provided somewhere in the resource unless they request otherwise.
  • Reference and cite any materials that inform your ideas. Direct excerpts should only be used with publisher/creator permission or if under an open license/public domain.
  • Use a link in your document or on your site if incorporating existing material that is not openly licensed or in the public domain. Verify licenses by scrolling to the bottom of a page or reading the terms & conditions and include attribution/ a link to the license as needed.

We are excited to launch the first province-wide K-12 OER initiative in Canada and encourage you to continue to learn about how developing and using Open Educational Resources encourages collaboration and innovation.

Once submitted, this resource will be reviewed, then posted. Initial posts will be reviewed by ARPDC staff; however, the ARPDC team may seek additional educators from the field should the workload warrant.   If you have any questions/issues, please get in touch with arpdc.ab.ca@gmail.com.

We encourage all submitters to include a “How to Use this Resource” document as the first document you submit in your submission. This document might include: Title, Description, Key Points, Materials, and Suggestions for using the resource.  Here is an excellent example: How to Use this Resource Example. This template  ARPDC Curriculum Site Resource Template word doc is provided for your use.

We are grateful to participating Divisions, creators, and contributors who recognize the role educators can play in improving curriculum implementation and enhancing the educational experience of all students. We hope that this website will scale up as each grade and subject is implemented.   To learn more about how Alberta School Divisions may support and join this project visit the Alberta School Divisions and Open Educational Resources Page.
